08:10 pm - Fiddler

Went with my family to see Fiddler on the Roof today.  Amazing story, nicely done music and props.  Reminds you of the importance or unimportance of holding on to traditions.
My family and extended family have several traditions - monthly family birthday parties, Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa's,  thumbs up on cattle guards and sometimes when crossing bridges, reds in the car on vacations, church on Sunday (or Saturday night) - not all like this one, Grandma's Mac and Cheese, walking the walls on vacations, playing Pokemon Puzzle League - though our current game will only allow one player at a time, occasional weekend tennis - the 11 year old would like it more often,  the tooth fairy, evening walks of one to five miles, weekend laundry - yes, it's running right now - with the load controller the laundry is generally a weekend job, cleaning the bacon pot so you can chose the dinner location - the vegetarian doesn't like that one, watching "Lost" - for some of us...I'll have to keep thinking of things to add.

08:05 pm - popular election

Why is there still an electoral college?  Are we Americans not smart enough to make this decision by popular vote?  So much hype currently about the primaries to make the party's choice candidate chosen, why then can we not do the final choice by popular vote?  Just one more level of bureauocracy.
